What are Props and Futures?
Props and futures are two common types of sports bets that offer unique wagering opportunities beyond the traditional game outcomes.
Props
Props or Proposition Bets are bets on specific events or outcomes within a game that are not directly tied to the final result.
Examples:
- Player props: Will a specific player score a certain number of points or rebounds?
- Game props: Will the game go into overtime? How many three-pointers will be made?
- Team props: Will a team score over or under a certain number of points?
Futures
Futures are bets placed on events that will occur in the future, often months or even years ahead.
Examples:
- Championship futures: Who will win the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, or World Series?
- Player awards futures: Who will win the MVP, Rookie of the Year, or Defensive Player of the Year?
- Season totals futures: How many wins will a team have?
