What is a Straight Bet?
A straight bet is one of the most straightforward and popular forms of sports betting. It involves betting on a team and the point spread associated with the game. The standard cost of a straight bet is $110 to win $100, often referred to as 10/11 odds.
Example:
San Francisco 49ers +3 (-110)
Kansas City Chiefs -3 (-110)
- If you place a straight bet on the Chiefs -3, they must win by more than 3 points for your bet to win.
- If you bet on the 49ers +3, they must not lose by more than 2 points for you to win.
- If the final score difference is exactly 3 points (e.g., Chiefs 27, 49ers 24), the bet results in a "push," meaning no action, and your wager is refunded.
